Hip Intensive Yoga Teacher Training

Online Training

Goes live in 2021

About

In early 2021, Tiffany and the Yoga Medicine® team will be offering an advanced online teacher training on the hip. The Hip Intensive Yoga Teacher Training provides a thorough examination of the hip’s anatomy, dysfunction, and the application of yoga to address common contraindications. The hip curriculum is one of our core orthopedic modules along with the spine and shoulder modules – all of which are highly recommended for our advanced teachers.

COVID-19 Training Update

In-line with the current educational industry standards under COVID-19, this training has moved to an online format.

Who is This Training For?

For teachers dedicated to a higher standard of learning looking to deepen their knowledge.

The Hip Intensive Yoga Teacher Training is a 55-hour advanced online training for active yoga teachers who are interested in learning more about this invaluable curriculum. To fully benefit from this training, we recommend that anyone considering to enroll is actively working with students and clients within a yoga or therapeutic setting.

We believe that an experienced yoga teacher is a key component in our healthcare network and with our credentials, people know they have a teacher who is knowledgeable and experienced. The 500-hour advanced training focuses on a deeper understanding of western anatomy and physiology and its application to the traditional yoga philosophy. We train our teachers to understand the body and the practice so that they can understand how to apply the practice to the individual with any style or level of practice to create personalized therapeutic yoga sessions.

Program Structure

Each section is composed of lectures, homework and asana practices to integrate the information. We created this online training to be flexible with your schedule so that you can create your own personalized home retreat. You can complete it at your own pace, there is no deadline by which you need to complete the training, and you’ll have unlimited access to the training materials even after completion. Feel free to do as much as you’d like whenever you like. Most of all we are committed to bringing you the highest quality of education by our incredible teachers to your door.

Because this intensive yoga teacher training was originally scheduled to run as an in-person training, it will count as 55 ‘in-person/contact’ hours towards your 500-hour/1000-hour Yoga Medicine certification. Directly following the yoga teacher training you will be invited to take an online exam to receive your certificate of completion and training hours. For the time being these hours will still be recognized by Yoga Alliance as well, click here to read more about their guidelines on online training hours.

The intensive yoga teacher training begins with a deeper look at the anatomy and biomechanics of the hip joint as a basis for learning to evaluate this area. This course examines the common injuries and dysfunction of the hip with an exploration of how to work with issues in this area. During the week you will learn how to work with a variety of ailments and how to troubleshoot new ailments on your own. There will be case studies along the way to help you integrate the information. You will leave with a deeper understanding of this joint that you can immediately apply to your teaching and your practice by more thoroughly understanding the function of this critical joint.
