CADIZ, SPAIN | MAY 11-18, 2019

The Meditation and Yin Yoga Teacher Training, a curriculum close to our heart, will be co-taught by Tiffany Cruikshank & Rashmi Bismark, MD, MPH. Rashmi brings over 15 years of study & practice of alternative healing modalities, including ayurveda, energy healing, yoga, & meditation. Together, these expert instructors will lead the group in lectures, discussions & practices – Rashmi guiding the mindfulness & meditation component & Tiffany leading the yin & morning asana/meditation practices. This will be the third time that Tiffany & Rashmi have led this Meditation and Yin Yoga Teacher Training together, & it is our pleasure to offer this training again with two experts from complementary fields in this incredible location!

This course takes place at one of Yoga Medicine’s favorite destinations — the Suryalila Retreat Center in Cadiz, Spain. This retreat center is tucked away in the beautiful countryside so you can experience a refreshing change of pace from your daily routine during this yoga teacher training in Spain. Enjoy locally sourced vegetarian menus designed daily by the onsite chefs. We hope you can join us there!

Meditation and Yin Yoga Teacher Training (60 hours)

This meditation and yin yoga teacher training looks at these two more contemplative practices and the science behind how they can be used more therapeutically. We will look at how and when to use meditation and yin practices, as well as the science behind how it affects our physiology. We will dissect the yin yoga practice and examine how to apply it in a therapeutic format as well as breakdown the Chinese Medicine meridians and look at how different yoga poses affect the energetic body. This meditation and yin yoga teacher training will also cover how to introduce your students to meditation, common misconceptions, hindrances and the when, why and how of meditation as well as a look at some of the current research around meditation practices. We will examine the science behind the physiological and psychological benefits as well as the concept of neuroplasticity and how it relates to a yoga and meditation practice.

This week involves an introspective practice of self inquiry through daily practices of meditation, mindfulness, and yin yoga. Participants must have a strong desire to cultivate a meditation practice or already have a regular meditation practice. We welcome the seasoned or novice meditator as long as both come with an open mind. Each day you can expect morning and afternoon meditation practices intermingled with light vinyasa and yin yoga. Come prepared for a brain full of information as well as time spent on more contemplative personal discoveries.
