Homecoming – A Meditation and Self-Inquiry Teacher Retreat

Tulum, Mexico

October 11-17, 2020

About

Join us in Tulum, Mexico for Yoga Medicine®’s new yoga teacher training – Homecoming – A Meditation and Self-Inquiry Teacher Retreat. This 5 day/6 night immersion, led by Diane Malaspina Ph.D. and Dr. Rashmi Bismark, will explore a range of contemplative practices from within the yoga and mindfulness traditions. Paired with slow flow, restorative, and yin asana practice, this retreat will allow you to deepen your commitment to an intentional personal meditation practice (sadhana) by incorporating various styles of focused-attention, mindfulness, and compassion-based meditation. We will also explore intention setting (sankalpa) and how to tailor meditation practices to meet your personal needs through guided reflections, journaling, and group discussions. Including many opportunities for connection and a full day of intentional silence, together we will journey into resting and engaging as a community with inclusive awareness.

This course takes place at a destination familiar to Yoga Medicine — the Maya Tulum Retreat and Spa in Tulum, Mexico. This retreat center is located along the beautiful beaches of the Mexican Riviera so you have a nice getaway from your day-to-day routine during this yoga teacher training in Tulum. We hope you join us there!

Content of the week will include:

  • Strategies for teaching meditation
  • Skills for attuning to and refining intention for practice
  • Tools for leading groups through overcoming meditation obstacles, and time for practice teaching
  • Personal practice and self-development as a practitioner and teacher of meditation
