CURRICULUM

Spine: Anatomy, Dysfunction, & Application (24 Hours)

This immersion yoga teacher training in New Orleans begins with a deeper look at the anatomy and biomechanics of the spine as a basis for understanding its function. We will explore the spine’s normal range of motion and how to evaluate this on your students while taking into consideration the importance of individual variances. This 500-hour/1000-hour yoga teacher training will also examine common injuries and dysfunction of the spine. With this information in mind, we will explore approaches to using a yoga practice to work with these issues and how to individualize it to each students. You will leave with a deeper understanding of the spine that you can immediately apply to your teaching and your practice by more thoroughly understanding spinal function and health.

This yoga teacher training counts as 24 hours towards your 500-hour/1000-hour Yoga Medicine® certification. Directly following the yoga teacher training you will be invited to take a short, online quiz to receive your certificate of completion.
