Yin and Meditation Yoga Teacher Training

Bali, Indonesia

March 7-14, 2020

The Yin and Meditation Yoga teacher training—a curriculum close to our heart—is co-taught by Tiffany Cruikshank and Rashmi Bismark, MD, MPH. Rashmi brings over 15 years of study and practice of alternative healing modalities, including ayurveda, energy healing, yoga, and meditation. Together, these expert instructors will lead the group in lectures, discussions & practices – Rashmi guiding the mindfulness & meditation component and Tiffany leading the morning and evening asana practices. This is the fourth time that Tiffany and Rashmi have led this training together, and it is our pleasure to offer this curriculum with two experts from complementary fields in this incredible location!

This week-long training takes place at the Komune Resort in Bali, Indonesia. This beachfront resort is located on the beautiful and lush Keramas beaches so you can experience a nice getaway from your daily routine. Enjoy healthy, fresh, and delicious meals with a well-balanced mix of local produce. We hope you can join us there!

Who is This Training For?

For teachers dedicated to a higher standard of learning looking to deepen their knowledge.

The Meditation and Yin Yoga Teacher Training is a 55-hour advanced course for active yoga teachers who are actively pursuing their 500-hour certification with Yoga Medicine®. To fully benefit from this training, we recommend that anyone considering to enroll are actively working with students and clients within a yoga setting.

Yoga Medicine® believes that an experienced yoga teacher can be an asset in conjunction with the healthcare network, and with our credentials, your students will know that their yoga teacher is well trained and a range of experience. Yoga Medicine® trains our community of teachers to understand the body and the therapeutic approaches within a yoga practice so that they can build a personalized practice to the individual across any yoga style or level of wellness.

Program Curriculum

Meditation & Yin Yoga Teacher Training (55 Hours)

This yoga teacher training looks at these two more contemplative practices and the science behind how they can be used more therapeutically. We will look at how and when to use yin and/or meditation practices, as well as the science behind how it affects our physiology. We will dissect the yin yoga practice to examine its therapeutic application as well as assess a complimentary approach using the Chinese Medicine meridians. This Eastern medicine lens allows us to look at various yoga poses’ affect upon the energetic body.

Our curriculum will also cover how to introduce your students to meditation by addressing common misconceptions, hindrances and how current research around meditation practices offer beneficial perspectives to offer in your classes. We will examine the science behind the physiological and psychological benefits as well as the concept of neuroplasticity and how it relates to our yin yoga and meditation practices.

This week involves an introspective practice of self inquiry through daily practices of meditation, mindfulness, and yin yoga. Participants must have a strong desire to cultivate a meditation practice or already have a regular meditation practice. We welcome the seasoned or novice meditator as long as both come with an open mind. Each day you can expect morning and afternoon meditation practices intermingled with light vinyasa and yin yoga. Come prepared for a brain full of information as well as time spent on more contemplative personal discoveries.

This intensive yoga teacher training counts as 55 hours towards your 500-hour/1000-hour Yoga Medicine® certification. Directly following the yoga teacher training you will be invited to take an online exam to receive your certificate of completion.
