Here is my favorite work for the hips! A nice resource whether you're looking for strength, range of motion/yin, relief with MFR, flow or just love hip work. Hip issues are very specific to the individual and training our teachers to individualize the practices for issues here is what we spend so much time doing at YM. However over the past 20 years of seeing patients and working with hundreds of hip injuries there are some very common themes I've found to be helpful across the board. So to help you out in your exploration, the main focal points I end up coming back to the most are: 1- working on rotational control of the hip joint (see classes: hip strength in 20, healthy hips rotational control, 3D hip strength, release and mobilize hips) 2- glute strength (see all glutes and most of my yoga conditioning classes in here) 3- psoas work to eccentrically lengthen or passively release (see quick fix: hip flexors) 4- working with any limited range of motion (see the yin and MFR classes in this list). But most of all explore and find what feels most helpful for you, which is often what is most challenging (actively or passively). Embrace the challenge!
