Training Description

Habits are arguably one of the most important determinants of health and overall life satisfaction. Yet in therapeutic and wellness settings, the inability to initiate or sustain health-promoting behaviors remains a primary barrier to positive client outcomes. To address this “knowing-doing gap,” we have created a brand new 8-hour course that moves beyond traditional animal-based habit science and challenges the standard hustle culture narrative of “hacks” and “protocols” to explore behavior change at its root.

This live online training offers a profoundly deep dive into the neurobiology of habits and goal- directed learning. You will learn about the reward system and habit formation in the basal ganglia, failure detection and the habenula, the role of dopamine as the currency by which the brain evaluates different options, and the conditions needed for adaptive neuroplasticity in adulthood. The curriculum explores the impact of chronic stress on executive function, how fierce self-criticism kills the motivation needed for change, and why self-compassion is such an effective behavioral regulation tool.

Understanding the neural architecture of habits allows you to work with the brain rather than against it. This course equips professionals with a highly effective, multi- component toolkit to help clients successfully implement positive change. Learn targeted breathwork, rhythmic entrainment practices, Emotional Freedom Technique (tapping), and yoga nidra to rapidly downregulate the nervous system and mitigate craving intensity. Discover the power of interoception, urge surfing, and visualization to disrupt maladaptive habits and restore conscious choice. You will walk away from this course with the scientific literacy and the therapeutic tools necessary to help clients bypass resistance, regulate arousal, and reclaim the response flexibility needed to live in greater harmony with their visions and goals.

Lindsay Roselle

500-Hour Yoga Medicine Teacher

“I'm continually impressed with the quality of Yoga Medicine programming, the dedication to real, usable education, and the hearts of the group of people that show up to each training. Each YM training has served me perfectly at that moment in my life, and I just want to express my gratitude again to you Tiffany and your team for your tireless commitment to creating exceptional experiences.”

Sophie Tashkovski

500-Hour Yoga Medicine Teacher

“There is no doubt that I have become a better teacher with each training I attend. YM trainings have fine tuned my understanding of anatomy, and helped me better understand how to help individual clients feel best in their bodies. I’ve also learned about my own body and how to treat it with kindness. YM trainings have changed my Yoga perspective-when I started as a Yoga student, I thought you had to push yourself at all costs to achieve a pose. Now I accept where I am on any given day and know that it might be different the next day.”
