Slow & Loaded Series

Adding external load is a fantastic way to build strength beyond the body weight challenges of traditional yoga poses! In this class series, you have the option of incorporating a weighted implement to change up your practice and challenge yourself beyond the confines of a "regular" practice. Aside from the fact that eccentrics and slow movement are fantastic for building strength, tissue resilience and control in general, adding external load is a great way to change the feel of a traditional asana practice and add some variability and novelty to the ways in which we load our tissues. Strengthening by definition requires exposure to increasing levels of load, so if you’re ready to explore beyond the body weight scenarios of yoga asana, this series is for you.

As always, you get to meet yourself wherever feels appropriate: pick a weight of your choice, and use it for some or all of the sequence. Get ready to feel a healthy burn, and leave your mat with a renewed sense of resilience and capability in your body!
