Tips from Yoga Philosophy: Practice, Non-Attachment, Purity & Moderation

In this monthly dose, we continue diving into yoga philosophy to extract nuggets of wisdom to take with us both onto the mat and into our lives. In the previous dose we discussed the Yamas & Niyamas, and this month we finish off the Yamas with Brahmacharya (moderation) and Aparigraha (non-greediness) and the Niyamas with Sauca (purity). We’ll also look at Abhyasa and Vairagya from Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras which are often referred to as the wings of yoga in the way they support us to cultivate our practice in a sustainable and loving way. A common thread between all these philosophical concepts this month is about finding balance in order to live more fully in the present moment.
