We are excited to resume Yoga Medicine’s in-person trainings in the “Mile High City” of Denver, Colorado, which offers an affordable mix of urban sophistication and outdoor adventure!
This 55HR Myofascial Release training, led by Tiffany Cruikshank & Yoga Medicine® Therapeutic Specialists co-teachers, offers an in-depth look at the science behind the role of fascia and use of myofascial release techniques within a yoga setting to enhance tissue health, function and therapeutic outcomes. In this training, we will discuss the most recent research on fascia, examine the function and dysfunction of the fascia in conjunction with therapeutic techniques, and identify common areas and trigger points in the body that with simple, mindful self-application will enrich your own practice and teaching. Together, our expert teachers will guide you through this invaluable training using asana practices, lectures, and interactive sessions to create an in-depth, hands-on learning experience.
This 6-day urban-style module includes the training tuition only, making it accessible for participants to find their own accommodations while having more time to explore Denver’s walkable downtown, thriving arts and culture, an award-winning culinary scene, and the Rocky Mountains as a backdrop. We hope you’ll join us!
Who is This Training For?
For teachers dedicated to a higher standard of learning looking to deepen their knowledge.

Yoga Medicine® trains our community of teachers to understand the body and the therapeutic approaches within a yoga practice so that they can build a personalized practice to the individual across any yoga style or level of wellness.

Myofascial release has many uses and applications that make it a particularly effective tool when working with pain, injuries, movement restrictions (limited range of motion), performance enhancement, athlete recovery, as an adjunct to help prevent injuries and as a tool to support the health of the connective tissue.
This 55HR Myofascial Release Training is a great adjunct to a yoga practice, especially helpful for those with injuries or restrictions and a great combination to the orthopedic trainings (hip, spine, shoulder, extremities) when taken before or after to integrate the information and apply it in a more effective way. The training will focus on the use of myofascial release techniques within a yoga setting.
We’ll take a deep dive into myofascial release techniques and contraindications, as a preparation to learning over 100 different techniques for every part of the body. You’ll have modifications and prop options for each technique so you can adapt to meet the needs of the person you’re working with and we’ll talk about specific therapeutics along the way. At the end we’ll talk on protocols for different areas of the body along with adaptations and take a look at the myofascial chains that unite the system and bring all the information together.
This training will give you all the tools you need to integrate myofascial release techniques into your classes, teach myofascial release classes, use myofascial release within a therapeutic setting, answer questions and apply the information with clients in a one-one setting.
Upon completion you will:
- Learn the cellular components of fascia, fascial health and fascial adaptations.
- Understand what the research tells us so far about MFR techniques.
- Have a working knowledge of MFR techniques and contraindications.
- Have an intimate familiarity with over 100 techniques for every part of the body.
- Be able to modify techniques to suit the individual as well as props available.
- Be able to incorporate MFR into yoga sessions and classes.
- Have a working knowledge of trigger points and their applications in a therapeutic setting.
- Understand how myofascial chains support and influence the fascial system.
- Be able to apply MFR techniques in a therapeutic setting and adapt to individual needs.

What COVID protocols will be implemented for this in-person training?
The city of Denver has lifted its indoor mask mandate and the CDC launched new guidance regarding COVID-19 Community Levels. As a result, masks are not mandated in indoor settings, including the Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver Downtown Convention Center. Wearing a mask is a personal choice and we ask that everyone makes their choice responsibly. Given that this will be a fairly large event, we encourage at risk participants to either join our online training or wear masks throughout the event. All attendees should be mindful and respectful of other attendees’ health choices.
We are not requiring vaccination verification at this event, vaccination is a personal choice and we respect that much has gone into your decision. Please weigh this decision with your healthcare provider to find what is best for your healthcare needs. We ask all participants to take an on your honor COVID test prior to the training to support your fellow teachers and to provide a safe environment for all. This can be a rapid, PCR or at-home test.
This in-person training will be held in a spacious ballroom with enough room for yoga mats to be at least 2 feet apart from each other; however it is the participant’s decision on how they space their mat. We ask that you please be conscious of others around you when setting up your area.
Even with precautions, traveling (even in pre-COVID times) always involves some risk. Please assess what is best for you and join us for the online training option if you have any hesitation. We are committed to supporting you however we can and we look forward to having you join us in the setting that is best for you!
