Training Description

Are you interested in understanding changes associated with the menopausal transition from both the western scientific perspective as well as the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) perspective? Would you like to learn about interventions for peri/menopause-associated signs and symptoms? There’s always new information floating around on movement and lifestyle related practices catering to peri- and postmenopausal women, which makes it challenging to select the best practices for each individual’s needs. In this training we’ll give you all the tools and information you need to navigate and individualize your work with females in this transitional phase to empower them with resources to embody this wisdom phase.

Even with a more extensive understanding of this life transition, there is still so much we don’t know about each individual experience. This is where Traditional Chinese Medicine so brilliantly makes sense of this shifting terrain and the individual nuances that come with it. We’ll use both the scientific and TCM lens to give you a more robust view of each individual and combine that with the brilliance of the yoga practices to provide an effective individualized approach.

In this 12-hour, LIVE online training led by Tiffany Cruikshank, L.Ac. and Dr. Katja Bartsch, expect to gain a robust understanding of the current research, Chinese Medicine practices, biopsychosocial influences, and wisdom relevant to a yoga setting for a more thorough understanding of the peri/postmenopausal transition. You’ll learn about hormonal changes associated with the menopausal transition, and we’ll discuss possible signs and symptoms: from hot flashes/ night sweats and brain fog to changes in psychological well-being, sleep quality, urogenital and pelvic floor health, sexual function, adaptations in the musculoskeletal and cardiovascular systems, as well as changes in body composition.

You’ll not only get an in-depth look at the what, why, and how behind it all, but also an in-depth look at movement and lifestyle interventions and TCM strategies.

You will leave this training with a thorough understanding of adaptations throughout peri- and postmenopause and how to support individuals through their experience.

Lindsay Roselle

500-Hour Yoga Medicine Teacher

“I'm continually impressed with the quality of Yoga Medicine programming, the dedication to real, usable education, and the hearts of the group of people that show up to each training. Each YM training has served me perfectly at that moment in my life, and I just want to express my gratitude again to you Tiffany and your team for your tireless commitment to creating exceptional experiences.”

Sophie Tashkovski

500-Hour Yoga Medicine Teacher

“There is no doubt that I have become a better teacher with each training I attend. YM trainings have fine tuned my understanding of anatomy, and helped me better understand how to help individual clients feel best in their bodies. I’ve also learned about my own body and how to treat it with kindness. YM trainings have changed my Yoga perspective-when I started as a Yoga student, I thought you had to push yourself at all costs to achieve a pose. Now I accept where I am on any given day and know that it might be different the next day.”
