Training Description

Strength is now widely recognized as a cornerstone of lifelong health, yet many yoga teachers feel unsure how to integrate strength and conditioning principles into their classes in a way that is authentic, effective, and sustainable.

This live 9-hour online training bridges the gap between contemporary strength and conditioning science and yoga movement practices, offering a clear, grounded framework for designing practices that are both mindful and progressively challenging.

At its core, the course develops a practical understanding of how training works, how the body adapts to stimulus, and how to design movement with intention—moving beyond intuition alone toward informed, adaptable programming decisions.

For practitioners and teachers, it provides an accessible entry point into structured strength development, demystifying key concepts such as load, progression, and programming while preserving the integrity of yoga-informed movement.

For athletes who already strength-train, it reframes yoga conditioning as a targeted, intelligent system for improving control, capacity, and resilience across the full range of motion.

Through a combination of physiological theory and applied practice, you’ll learn how to design yoga-informed conditioning sessions that are purposeful, and grounded in a clear understanding of human adaptation. A distinguishing feature of this training is the integration of short educational lectures that unpack the rationale behind each practice. By exploring the what, why, and how, participants will gain greater confidence in sequencing, decision-making, and practical application.

By the end of this training, you will be able to:

  • Explain the key physiological principles underpinning strength and conditioning
  • Apply foundational programming concepts to yoga class design
  • Confidently create classes that support strength development while staying aligned with your individual teaching or training approach

“I'm continually impressed with the quality of Yoga Medicine programming, the dedication to real, usable education, and the hearts of the group of people that show up to each training. Each YM training has served me perfectly at that moment in my life, and I just want to express my gratitude again to you Tiffany and your team for your tireless commitment to creating exceptional experiences.”

Sophie Tashkovski

500-Hour Yoga Medicine Teacher

“There is no doubt that I have become a better teacher with each training I attend. YM trainings have fine tuned my understanding of anatomy, and helped me better understand how to help individual clients feel best in their bodies. I’ve also learned about my own body and how to treat it with kindness. YM trainings have changed my Yoga perspective-when I started as a Yoga student, I thought you had to push yourself at all costs to achieve a pose. Now I accept where I am on any given day and know that it might be different the next day.”
